Boost
It is recommended that not more than 500 head be sprayed in the spray race at one time, especially where fouling is a problem. If, however, this figure is exceeded, boosting at the rate of 100 mℓ per 100 head commencing at 500 head can be undertaken to maintain a satisfactory deposit of active ingredient, especially where tick-borne diseases are a problem.

Mixing instructions as a Total Replenishment Plunge Tank

Initial Fill
i) Use at a rate of 1 part Taktic® 25% Cattle Dip to 5 000 parts of water.
ii) Premix the required amount of Taktic® 25% Cattle Dip with water in suitable containers and then when well mixed, add to the measured bulk in the plunge tank and stir thoroughly.

Replenishment during dipping
i) Use at a rate of 1 part Taktic® 25% Cattle Dip to 2 500 parts of water.

Mixing instructions as a Stabilized Plunge Tank

Initial Fill
i) Use at a rate of 1 part Taktic® 25% Cattle Dip to 1 000 parts of water.
ii) Premix the required amount of Taktic® 25% Cattle Dip with water in suitable containers and then when well mixed, add to the measured bulk in the plunge tank and stir thoroughly.

For example, a 15 000 Lt plunge tank will require 15 litres of Taktic® 25% Cattle Dip. These 15 litres should be mixed with about 40 litres of water and this added to the plunge tank at differing points along the tank and then the whole volume of water must be well hand stirred. When well mixed, a small group of cattle (about 30 adults) should be dipped to remix the tank and be brought back to be redipped, before the rest of the animals are dipped.
At the end of the first dipping add 5 x 25kg bags of hydrated lime [Ca(OH)2] or slaked lime to the 15 000 ℓ dip tank by sprinkling it along the length of the dip tank.

Replenishment of Plunge Tanks
i) Top up with water when necessary to provide a suitable dipwash level. Measure the volume added.
ii) Add Taktic® 25% Cattle Dip to the plunge tank at a rate of 2,0 litres dip per 1 000 litres of water added to the tank.
iii) At the end of dipping add about 10 kg of hydrated lime to plunge tank by sprinkling it along the length of the dip tank.

Frequency of Use

Intensive tick control
When used as directed at weekly intervals, it will provide intensive tick control. All animals should be treated and interruption of the program should be avoided, as they will then, if not vaccinated, be susceptible to various tick-borne diseases.

Extended Treatment Intervals
Under circumstances of low tick challenge, it may be used, at the user’s discretion, at intervals greater than seven days. In these circumstances, users are advised to make use of relevant vaccines to obtain optimal protection of their cattle against prevalent tick-borne diseases.

Mange – spray weekly.
Lice – spray twice with a seven-day interval.

STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS
Store in a cool dry place, below 25 ºC.
