ZIPDIP®

Emulsifiable concentrate. Dip for angora goats and spray for pigs. Kills sheep scab mites, lice, keds, blowfly larvae and controls ticks present at time of dipping and itch mites on sheep and goats. Does not protect against blowfly strike. Controls Karoo Paralysis ticks. Kills pig mange mites. Can be used for sheep, goats and pigs of all ages.

POISONOUS

Composition
Contains: Triazophos 40 % m/m.

Warnings

  • Withdrawal period: Allow a 7 day interval between the last application and slaughter for human consumption.
  • This is an organophosphorous product and must not be used in conjunction with other organophosphorous compounds or cholinesterase inhibitors.
  • Handle with care. Poisonous by contact, swallowing and inhalation.
  • Store away from food and feed.
  • Keep out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals.
  • Toxic to fish, bees, poultry, birds and wildlife.
  • Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, failure thereof may ensue as a result of a wide range of reasons. If this is suspected, seek veterinary advice and notify the registration holder.

Precautions

  • Avoid contact with concentrate and wash immediately and thoroughly with soap and water after accidental skin contamination.
  • Remove and wash contaminated clothing.
  • Avoid prolonged contact with dipwash.
  • Do not eat, drink or smoke while or after mixing, before washing hands and face thoroughly.
  • Prevent contamination of food, food utensils, grazing, drinking water, rivers, dams, etc.
  • Destroy empty containers by perforation and flattening and never re-use for any other purpose.
  • Keep away from extremes of heat and cold.

Note to Doctor and Veterinarian
This is an organosphosphatepoison. Keep patient fully atropinised and use 2 P.A.M.

Directions for Use: USE ONLY AS DIRECTED

  • SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE. Mix the required volume of concentrate with an equal volume of water and stir briskly. It is then ready to be added to the diptank.

Note: A standard oil/petrol drum holds 200 litres.

Sheep and goats

Diptanks: This product is intended for constant replenishment.

Only newly shorn sheep up to 4 weeks post shearing may be dipped by the conventional method.

Please note: Sheep should be kept in the dipwash for 1 minute. The heads should be submerged in the dipwash at least 3 times.

Dipwash must be made up fresh for dipping.

Do not pump old dipwash into rivers or dams as it may be toxic to fish.

  1. Constant Replenishment:
    Diptank: 300 ml Zipdip® per 1 000 litres water OR
    1 litre Zipdip® per 3 300 litres water
    Replenishment tank: 1 litre Zipdip® per 1 000 ℓ water
  2. Conventional dipping: Only for newly shorn sheep.
    Diptank: 300 ml Zipdip® per 1 000 litres water OR
    1 litre Zipdip® per 3 300 litres water
    Replenishment: 1 litre Zipdip® per 1 000 litres water when one quarter of the dipwash has been carried out of the tank.

Sheepscab:
In positively diagnosed outbreaks, two dippings at 8 – 10 day intervals, as per government regulations.

Karoo Paralysis ticks: use foot- or bellybath as required between February and September to control ticks.

Lice and keds:
dip once 2 – 4 weeks after shearing or as necessary.

Itch mite:
dip 2 – 3 weeks after shearing and repeat after 3 – 4 weeks.

Blowfly strike:
treat affected areas as necessary.

Important:
In the case of sheep and goats old dipwash must not be kept over for longer than 2 days. Clean diptank after dipping each flock. Use clean water and new dilutions at every separate dipping. Dips are not bacteriocidal. For control of bacterial contamination in diptanks use 1 kg zinc sulphate or 400 g copper sulphate per 1 000 litres dipwash. For control of lumpy wool use 1 kg zinc sulphate per 400 litres dipwash.

Pig mange:
Use 1 litre Zipdip® per 1 000 litres water (or 1 ml per 1 litre water). With an effective spray, thoroughly wet the animals. Spray the ear on the inside as well. Repeat after approximately 8 days for best results. Use a fresh solution each time. Do not dip pigs.
